At Side Door, we believe that accessibility in all its forms, is key to an equitable and enjoyable experience for everyone.

From sign up, through to show day, we strive to make everyone’s Side Door experience as transparent, accessible, and barrier-free as possible.

We encourage hosts and artists to be transparent about accessibility at each Side Door show, by including any relevant information in their show’s description, including but not limited to:

  • Physical access to the show space (stairs, ramps, elevators, seating arrangements)

  • Whether or not there will be accommodations (i.e. Interpreters, an assigned helper)

  • Expectations around the consumption of drugs and alcohol

  • Flashing lights, volume of the PA system

  • Allergens (scents, animals in the space)

  • Do you allow service animals?

  • Are you a safe space for the 2SLGBTQ+ community or under-represented groups - share that!
