Side Door recommends at least 3 months lead time to promote a ticketed in-person show, and although this is still good practice for online shows, so far it has proven possible to book and promote a successful online show with a shorter lead time (but we do not advise any shorter than one week - you still want sufficient time to promote!)

For online shows, as with in-person shows, it is recommended to know your audience, and before booking your online show, take into consideration factors such as the time of year, time of the week, time of day you are choosing your show to take place, and how close to your other online performances (free or otherwise) the Side Door show will happen. Use your own experience with promoting to inform how much time you think would be appropriate for promoting this upcoming show, and/or whether you want to pair this online show with an event such as a single release or another important milestone in your career.
