You know your kids/pets best and how to create a situation that won’t be stressful. Sometimes that means reserving a certain spot for children/pets or arranging alternative care ahead of time. Sometimes, having the children or pets present for soundcheck can help practice for the show later on. Or, consider inviting a watchful friend and keeping a room quiet and separated where kids/pets can chill in case the event overwhelms them. Either way, be sure to include in the description of your space and of any upcoming shows if you have a pet and/or livestock, and discuss with the Artist in the show thread about pets/children present. As long as you keep your own comfort and the comfort of your Artists and audience in mind, you’re bound to make the right call. Oh, and don’t forget to warn everyone involved about any potential allergens!
