To book a show with a Host you will need to make sure you have created an Artist profile and have logged in to Side Door (Haven’t done that before? Click here).

If you have created multiple profiles under one user account, make sure you’ve selected the profile that you’d like to find Hosts with. You can swap between profiles by clicking on your account’s circular profile icon at the top right of the platform, and selecting the appropriate profile from the black sidebar that appears.

There are two main ways to search for Hosts:

In the navigation menu at the top left of your screen, hover over Browse and select Hosts. This option provides an index of the entire Hosts catalogue categorized by Spaces and Presenters. Toggle whether you’d like to find a Space or Presenter beside the search bar, and then search for a Host by keyword!

In the navigation menuat the top left of your screen, click Manage. This will take you to the Connect tab. Hosts will display according to your Artist profile’s preferences and should be good candidates for you to connect with! Make sure to select either Spaces or Presenters in the left sidebar, based on the kind of Host you would like to discover. Here you can also search for hosts based on geographic location, capacity, and other modifiers.

If the Host has shows posted, you’ll be able to toggle between Shows and Gallery above their image, to either view their current show listings or view their profile picture. To read more about a Host click on View Profile.

When you’ve found a Host you’d like to work with, click the Message button to reach out and request a connection. It’s helpful to mention a little bit about yourself and what you have in mind for working together (date/time, type of show, etc.).

After you’ve messaged a Host about their profile, they will be notified of the connection request. You don’t need to do anything else for now. If your Notification Bell at the top right of the platform is lit up, you may have potential connection requests waiting to be reviewed!

(There are a few other places incoming requests show up, including the top left of the Connect page and the Requests sections of your Dashboard.)

Clicking on the Notification Bell opens your inbox, displaying any incoming connection requests. These are Hosts that have liked your profile that you haven't decided to connect with yet. Click on the View All Potential Matches button to view them!

If you’re interested in the Host that has requested to connect with you, click on Accept to connect with them! This opens up a chat thread within your Connections page, putting you in direct contact with the Host, and allowing you to initiate the booking process.

(More Info on Booking Here). The Host will also be notified that you have responded positively.

Not feeling any of your connection requests? No problem—Click on the X button to remove the request from your screen - the other party isn’t notified, and cannot attempt to connect with you again for a period of time.

That's it! Keep an eye on Connections and your email to hear about any successful connection requests, and keep an eye on that Notification Bell for any potential connections.
