What is a match?

Artist + Host > Mutual Match = Connection

Artists and Hosts connect on the Side Door platform by corresponding with one another through direct messages. Match is the term used at Side Door to signal interest between a Host/Venue and an Artist. Matches can only occur between users with completed Side Door profiles in good standing.

When you message another user it will send them a notification that you would like to communicate, potentially about booking a show. Any request to match with you, responses to your match requests or mutual matches will be found in the notification center (the bell icon in the upper right hand corner) and/or the Requests section on the left in the Discover tab of your Dashboard.

What is a connection?

Connection is a term used to define user-to-user engagement and communication. A Connection is built when two users mutually match with one another over shared preferences/schedules.

To view incoming matches or messages, click on the bell icon at the top right corner of the browser screen. Users interested in connecting with you will be displayed. Click View Matches, to see the message. Responding positively to the match request will open a conversation with the user in the Connections tab.

As an Artist looking to book an online show, you will see a drop-down list of your connections when you select Book an Online Show > With a Presenter.
